mud

“It's difficult in times like these: ideals, dreams and cherished hopes rise within us, only to be crushed by grim reality.
It's a wonder I haven't abandoned all my ideals, they seem so absurd and impractical.
Yet I cling to them because I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are truly good at heart.”

When I stepped outside this morning, this was what I saw.

*
Why? I mean.. Why?

*
But after seeing these stick figures drawn with mud, I couldn't stop smiling.

*
I quickly remembered hearing kids' laughter that was coming from the courtyard yesterday.

*
How could I get upset after seeing these drawings and remembering the laughter...

My thoughts and prayers go out to those who lost their loved ones in Connecticut.

Bow Truss

*
After hearing about Starbuck's priciest $7.00 premium coffee, I realized that people really do luv~ coffee.
Your coffee might cost more than lunch, but if there is a demand, then I guess there is a demand.
I don't know. It might be the best tasting coffee ever but I'm sticking to the local 'premium' coffee shops like this one.

Christmas is coming!

*
It seems like they are ready to celebrate Christmas already.
Grandma made these cute outfits for the little ones.
No, she didn't make any of these for the big ones.
So, yeah... I didn't get one :)

My cute niece Annabelle!

*
Look at this cute little girl. She is already 6 months old,
crawling around the house chasing after her mommy and her doggy Milo.
I totally see my sister in her.
That's one of many many reasons why I love her so much.

DORIDORI BABY ♥ Practical Life Exercises

Since we are living in the city, we have very limited space to store AJ's toy.  Because of that reason, I tend to give her a lot of kitchen utensils to play with instead of buying her new toys.  I think it's a great way to expose her to some of the practical life exercises.
Today, while her daddy was cooking wine braised short ribs for dinner, AJ helped him by making watermelon based carrot bread soup with a hint of apple.  Doesn't it look yummy?
Happy Sunday everyone!

Starved Rock State Park

*
Starved Rock State Park is located just southwest of Chicago  along the south bank of the Illinois River.
*

What an easy drive. Two hours later leaving chicago, voila! we are already here, yay!
*

*
This park is characterized by the many canyons like this.

*
The trails aren't too difficult, before you know it you will find yourself way up here looking down at people and waving at them.

Oh~~ Poor Adam....

Roadside America - #1

*
Last weekend me and my husband drove to St. Louis for our twin nieces' baptism.
We live in the Midwest, so driving through the flat land of corn fields about 5~6 hours will get us there, but how can I make this travel more interesting?
So I decided to keep my camera very close to me all time, and started recording things that I saw (somewhat) interesting.

Figuring out there is candy in the bag even though you already told him (or lied to him:) It's not candy.
